The famous Latin phrase “Noli turbare circulos meos”—“Do not disturb my circles!”—is attributed to Archimedes. Legend has it that as he was about to be killed by a Roman soldier during the Siege of Syracuse, he uttered these words in reference to a geometric figure he had drawn in the sand.
This quote became my guiding theme when I embarked on my artistic journey, painting circles upon circles. Circles—the eternal dance of beginning and end. My works reflect the infinity and perfection of this shape, which is both origin and conclusion, motion and stillness, focus and expansion. The circle invites us to center ourselves, to embrace life in its totality, and to surrender to the natural rhythm of transformation and return.
It remains my favorite shape, appearing in nearly every piece I create. Perhaps this is because, over the years, I too have softened, my edges rounding as I embraced the challenges that life set before me.
