you know the saying “he or she is my rock”? i´ve never used this term, never felt this way. if you use this phrase it´s high time to think about it!
just a few minutes ago i heard an amazing explanation, why not to say “you are my rock” to any other person. i feel empowered as well as so much validated!
thinking someone is your rock means giving away your strength and power.
this phrase is so often used to describe relationships with intimate partners. you´re lying to yourself by believing you can´t live without this person because she or he is your rock. mostly it´s dependency and/or subordination out of so called love, financial affairs, children, anxiety and so forth.
and if you believe you´re the rock for your child, you have to change your thinking. children have to be their own rock with your support, understanding, guidance, assistance, defense and advocacy along with so much more.
i´m hard to crack because of being my own rock :D
